According to the Association of Social Work Board all 50 states have laws which govern social work practice and each set their own criteria to obtain licensure. There is no reciprocity between states, you must reapply to change your license to another state and be aware regulations may be different. Most states require an application, school transcripts, passing a background check, and exam.
